Two Trinidad women face disorderly conduct charges after a brawl in a local bar that involved shoes as weapons.
Virginia Baca, 52, and her daughter, Heather Baca, 24, were arrested May 21 after allegedly using their high-heeled shoes to attack two Raton women at Gino's Bar at 991 E. Main St.

The officer investigating the incident spoke to the bar's owner, Linda Velasquez, who told him one of the two Raton women had approached her just before the fight broke out, saying the pair were being harassed by the Baca women but did not want any trouble. Velasquez said she spoke to Virginia and Heather Baca, advising them not to start any trouble in the bar or she would call police.
The Raton women then were followed into the bar's bathroom by the Bacas, who allegedly attacked them with their high-heeled shoes and their fists, injuring one of them. The Raton women responded with fisticuffs, one of them allegedly punching Virginia Baca in the nose. Virginia Baca was taken to the emergency room for treatment for injuries to her nose. Virginia Baca received a summons and release for disorderly conduct while at the emergency room. Heather Baca was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the local detoxification center, where she was placed on a law enforcement hold without incident.
